Pet's Story
We adopted Saturn from the Humane Society for Southwest Washington 12/3/10. He had separation anxiety when left alone so we took him almost everywhere we went. When we couldn't take him with us we took him doggy daycare or hired a dog sitter. He lived the rest of his life never being alone again. He was the quietest, most polite, zen-like dog I have ever known. We believe he was a salesman in a fuzzy dog suit because whatever he was selling, we were buying! In April 2013 I quit my job and Saturn and I went hiking every day for 2 years. Our last good hike together was to June lake on 10/24/15. I noticed he didn't have control over his rear legs on that hike. Two weeks later I noticed his back legs coming down the stairs ahead of his front feet. Saturn had Degenerative Myelopathy which is like Lou Gehrig's disease. He became paralyzed in his rear legs and tail. We took him in for hydrotherapy and got him a cart so he could continue to go out for walks with us. He even took his cart all the way under water at Cottonwood beach! Saturn passed over the rainbow bridge on 4/10/16 and his paw prints will be forever on my soul and in my heart.
