West Columbia Gorge Humane Society (WCGHS), established in 1994, is an independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill animal shelter located in Washougal, Washington. West Columbia Gorge Humane Society relies on a small staff, a core group of volunteers and a Board of Directors to take care of the day-to-day operations, shelter management, fundraising and events. We operate both a cat shelter and a dog shelter, as well as a foster home program and other programs to support animals in the local community.
The mission of West Columbia Gorge Humane Society is to end unnecessary euthanasia of all healthy or treatable companion animals in our community and find them permanent, loving homes. In 2015, WCGHS helped 382 cats and dogs find their forever homes. So far in 2016, through the month of August, we have found new homes for 282 cats and 45 dogs.
