Mike was adopted by us from the Cat Adoption Team shelter in Sherwood when he was 1.5 years old. We were living in Tigard on Bull Mountain at the time. He was caged at the shelter, along with the other cats, but unlike the others. he was rubbing up against the wires when we walked around the room looking at the available cats. He was Mr. Personality & Spunk from day 1: Jumping from the floor to a handrail very high on our staircase, attacking our feet when we moved them under the covers,chewing on wood at one point when we locked him out of the Master Bedroom so we could sleep, you name it. He was a one cat entertainment package! Even as he got older, he would do hilarious things like stand at the bottom of the stairs with his legs up one stair level and his front feel on the floor at the base of the stairs. He would get in that position when he heard me coming and wait there for me to stomp one foot and shout "Go!" and then he would race off like a sprinter who had just heard the starting pistol. He also played hide and seek with us and would lay on our laps for hours. Mike was well loved and knew it. We were sad to lose him to a random blood clot emergency about 1.5 years ago, but we have pictures of him around the house and lots of memories to keep the laughter he brought alive to this day.
