This photo from Waltham, Quebec, Canada shows the annual spring run off near my childhood home town. I took this picture from a lookout point on my family's property. As beautiful as it appears, and as glad as we are as Canadians to see the snow melt, it is a reminder that some springs cause dramatic flooding and emergency situations. This year, and in 2017, record snow falls caused record flooding. It is in these times that organizations and communities come together to aid families with the potential loss of their homes. The rainbow symbolizes the hope given by so many volunteers to sandbag, encourage others and give hope in their time of need. All countries have good times and bad. Surprisingly Canada, although an industrialised country, can have its' crisis moments too. Thank you CARE Canada for all you do for others in their times of need around the world!
