Welcome to the Dubuque Regional Humane Society’s Pitcher Perfect Pets Contest!
Enter your pet for a chance to become a true local celebrity! One lucky pet will be featured on the label of a special Homeward Blonde brew in partnership with 7 Hills Brewing Company.
This limited-edition beer will be available on tap at all 7 Hills Brewing Company locations and cans available at the Dubuque and Dyersville locations July 1st, giving your pet a moment in the spotlight for the whole community to enjoy.
The first-place winner will also be the DRHS calendar cover star, with the next top 4 dogs, top 4 cats, and top 4 critters featured in monthly spots. There are plenty of chances for your pet to shine!
Be sure to enter early! If you enter your pet by 11:59 PM on May 12th, you’ll receive 10 extra early bird votes. It’s an easy way to give your pet a head start.
📍 We also hope you’ll join us as we kick things off with a launch event on Saturday, May 16th from 2:00 PM–4:00 PM at 7 Hills Brewing Company downtown Dubuque location. Attendees will receive 20 extra votes just for coming and celebrating with us!

Prizes
🐾 Grand Prize (Cover Star + Brew Feature):
The pet with the most votes overall will be crowned our Pitcher Perfect champion! They’ll be featured on the front cover of the 2027 DRHS Calendar and become the star of the label for our special brew in partnership with 7 Hills Brewing—Homeward Blonde.
🗓️ Monthly Feature Winners:
The top 4 pets from each category (Dogs, Cats, and Critters) will be featured as full-page monthly stars inside the calendar. If a category receives fewer than 4 entries, the remaining spots will be filled by the next highest overall vote-getters across all categories.
📸 Photo Entry Period
- Opens: 9:00 AM (Central Time) on Monday, May 11, 2026
- Closes: 9:00 PM (Central Time) on Sunday, May 24, 2026
- Entry Fee: $20 per photo entry.
- To be eligible, all entries must be submitted through the GoGo Photo Contest platform. Entries submitted via any other method will not be accepted.
🐾 Entry Requirements- Open to domesticated animals only: dogs, cats, and small companion animals (e.g., rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles, etc.)
- Your pet does not need to be adopted from the Dubuque Regional Humane Society (DRHS) or any other shelter to be eligible.
- You must select the appropriate category (Dog, Cat, or Critter) when submitting your pet’s photo.
- All photo submissions must be digital and uploaded through the GoGo Photo Contest platform.
🖼️ Photo Guidelines- Photos must be print-quality and high resolution:
- Format: saved as .jpg or .png
- Landscape (horizontal) orientation preferred
- No digital overlays, stickers, doodles, or special effects will be accepted.
- Copyrighted images may only be submitted with written permission from the copyright holder.
- By submitting a photo, you confirm that:
- You own the rights to the image.
- You grant DRHS permission to use the photo, animal’s name, and story in future marketing, publications, and promotional materials.
📌 Photo ApprovalThe DRHS reserves the right to:
- Request a new photo if the original does not meet quality or content standards.
- Decline publication of any photo for any reason.
- Disqualify any entry that includes objectionable content or shows animals in distress (e.g., appearing fearful or anxious).
🗳️ Voting Period- Opens: 9:00 AM (Central Time) on Monday, May 18, 2026
- Closes: 9:00 PM (Central Time) on Sunday, May 31, 2026
- Voting Method: $1.00 = 1 vote in support of a pet
- Bonus voting promotions may be announced during the contest.
- All votes must be cast through the official GoGo Photo Contest platform. Votes submitted through any other method will not be counted.
- We encourage all entrants to share their pet’s contest photo on social media, email, and with friends and family to help gather votes and raise support for the DRHS! The more you share, the more visibility (and votes) your pet can receive.
