What is the Dog Charity Calendar Competition?

If your dog makes you smile every single day, why not let them make a difference to another dog’s life too?

The Dog Charity Calendar Competition is a fun and interactive fundraiser, bringing together dog lovers to celebrate the companions who mean so much to us, while raising vital funds for Clymping Dog Sanctuary—a small West Sussex charity dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming dogs who deserve a second chance.

Participants will have the opportunity to have their dog featured in a 2027 Charity Dog Calendar.

Entering couldn’t be easier. Simply upload your favourite photo of your dog onto the competition website, make a small donation to the charity, then encourage your family and friends to vote.

Throughout the competition, we’ll be sharing updates, leaderboards and exciting announcements on the Joanna Jones Photography Facebook and Instagram pages, so be sure to follow and cheer everyone on.

The 12 dogs receiving the most public votes will each win a professional photography session with Joanna Jones Photography. From that session, Jo will personally choose the image she feels best captures your dog’s personality to feature in the 2027 charity calendar.

There are even more opportunities too. Two lucky winners will appear on the front and rear cover, and every winner will receive additional prizes. Even if your dog doesn’t finish in the Top 12, there is still an opportunity for your dog to feature in the calendar!

Most importantly, every entry, every vote and every calendar sold helps raise more money for the dogs waiting for their forever homes.

Everything you need to know can be found in the Competition Rules and FAQs below.

Let’s celebrate the dogs who make our lives better… while helping those still waiting for someone to love them.

The organiser’s decision is final.

8. Winners’ Photography Experience

Winning dogs will receive the professional photography experience described on the Prizes page.

Winners must be available during the advertised photography period.

Sessions may be postponed because of unsuitable weather or other circumstances beyond the organiser’s reasonable control. Every attempt will be made to reschedule the session.

Winners who cannot attend, or who fail to respond within the requested timescales, may forfeit their prize and their place may be offered to a reserve winner.

9. Photographing Your Winning Dog

If your dog is one of the 12 winners, you must be willing to allow Joanna Jones Photography to photograph them for inclusion in the charity calendar.

Before the session, we’ll discuss your dog’s personality, behaviour and any special requirements so the experience can be tailored to them.

Reactive, nervous, elderly and disabled dogs are all very welcome.

The welfare of both animals and people will always come first.

If, following discussion with the owner, it is considered that the photography session cannot be carried out safely, or without causing unnecessary stress to the dog or risk to other people or animals, the organiser reserves the right to withdraw the prize and offer the calendar place to a reserve winner.

10. Calendar Production

Joanna Jones Photography will select the final photograph used in the calendar unless the winner upgrades to the Signature Experience. In that case, the winner will be invited to choose their favourite image for inclusion in the calendar.

The Top 2 winners may submit a first and second choice of the calendar month in which their dog appears.

Requests for specific months or calendar positions from other entrants unfortunately cannot be accommodated.
Images may be edited or cropped where necessary for printing, design and layout purposes.

11. Animal Welfare

Animal welfare will always come before the photograph.

No dog will be placed in a situation likely to cause unnecessary stress, discomfort or harm.

It is the owners responsibility to bring to Joanna Jones’ attention, any health, mobility, welfare behaviour or any other concerns prior to the photography session.

Owners remain responsible for the care, control and behaviour of their dog throughout the photography session.

The organiser reserves the right to stop or end a photography session if continuing would compromise the welfare of the dog or the safety of any person or animal.

Any travel costs incurred by the winners will be their own responsibility.

Every reasonable effort will be made to keep these costs as low as possible so that the maximum amount can be donated to the charity.

Reasonable costs may include, but are not limited to:

About Us
About Clymping Dog Sanctuary

Every dog deserves the chance to feel safe, loved and valued.

Clymping Dog Sanctuary provides a lifeline to dogs who have been abandoned, neglected or simply run out of options. With patience, compassion and unwavering dedication, the team works tirelessly to rehabilitate each dog, helping them regain confidence before finding the loving home they deserve.

Behind every successful adoption is an enormous amount of care — veterinary treatment, behavioural support, nutritious food, warm beds and countless hours from dedicated staff and volunteers who put the dogs first every single day.

By entering the Charity Calendar Competition, you’re helping to support that work.

Every entry, every vote and every calendar purchased contributes towards giving more dogs the second chance they deserve.

Together, we can celebrate the dogs we love while helping those still waiting to find their forever families.

About Joanna Jones Photography

Hello, I’m Jo.

I’m an award-winning pet photographer based near Chichester, West Sussex, specialising in creating natural outdoor portraits that celebrate the unique character of the dogs who share our lives.

Before becoming a photographer, I spent 30 years as a police officer. Throughout my career, people trusted me during some of life’s most difficult moments. Today, that same sense of care, honesty and responsibility is at the heart of everything I do.

I know that our time with our dogs never feels long enough. That’s why my photography isn’t about perfect poses or creating images for social media. It’s about preserving memories that will still mean something years from now.

Charity has always been an important part of my business. Through previous calendar projects, I’ve helped raise funds for the RSPCA and Cancer Research and I’m delighted to be partnering with Clymping Dog Sanctuary for this year’s competition.

My promise is simple: this competition will be run fairly, professionally and transparently, with the welfare of every dog always coming first.

Thank you for supporting this wonderful cause. I can’t wait to meet some of the amazing dogs who will help make this year’s calendar so special.

Why We’re Working Together

Over the past few years, I’ve had the pleasure of supporting Clymping Dog Sanctuary by donating photography experiences as raffle prizes at their popular Fun Dog Show events.

During that time, I’ve seen first-hand the dedication of their volunteers and the difference they make to the lives of the dogs in their care. They are a charity that is genuinely valued within the local community and have earned a reputation for putting the welfare of every dog first.

Like many rescue charities, they rely heavily on fundraising to provide food, veterinary treatment, rehabilitation and everything else their dogs need while they wait for their forever homes.

This calendar competition is my way of helping them continue that incredible work, while celebrating the special bond people share with their own dogs.
