Welcome to the Kaua‘i Humane Society’s 3rd Annual Photo Fundraiser and Pet Calendar Contest! Every year our photo fundraiser and pet calendar raise funds for our vital programs and services including sheltering, adoptions, low-cost veterinary care, community outreach, and more.
How It Works
It's easy to participate! Submit your favorite photo of your pet, then encourage your family and friends to vote for your pet's picture. Win great prizes!
Every entry supports the animals in our care and includes a free copy of the 2027 Kaua‘i Humane Society Calendar, which will be shipped or available for pick-up in fall 2026.
Prizes & Calendar Features
- The #1 overall vote-getter will be featured on the cover of the 2027 Kaua‘i Humane Society Calendar.
- The next top 6 cats and top 6 dogs will be featured as a Pet of the Month inside the calendar. All monthly feature winners will be assigned a calendar month at random and cannot request a specific month.
- Plus, all photo entries with 5 votes or more are GUARANTEED inclusion in the calendar or on the collage pages!

- Photos may include more than one pet, but only one prize package will be awarded per winning entry.
- Your pet does not need to be adopted from the Kaua‘i Humane Society or located on Kaua’i to participate.
- Photos that do not meet the technical or content requirements may be disqualified.

- Votes are $1 each and count as a tax-deductible donation to support KHS.
- You can vote for your own pet, too!
- Share your pet’s contest page via social media or email to rally support.
- All votes must be cast online through the official contest site.

Pre-Order Your 2027 KHS CalendarCalendars make great gifts and are available for $25 each (plus $5 shipping if mailed). Proceeds directly support our shelter animals.
Calendars will be mailed in the fall of 2026 or available for pick-up at the Kaua‘i Humane Society.

The top 6 photos from the Dog and Cat categories with the highest number of votes:
- Month spread in the 2027 Kauaʻi Humane Society Calendar*
- Original photo entry will be featured on Kauaʻi Humane Society website.
Winners will randomly be assigned a month and are unable to request specific months.
All other photos with at least 5 votes:
- Featured on the collage pages near the back of the 2027 Kauaʻi Humane Society Calendar
*If the photo submitted does not meet calendar requirements and is not suitable for print production, Kaua‘i Humane Society may request alternate images from the entrant or work with the winner to obtain a higher-quality photo of their pet.

- Submit a favorite photo of your pet, then encourage your family and friends to vote for your pet's picture!
- Photos must be horizontal (landscape), high-resolution (at least 1280 pixels wide), and a minimum of 1MB in size.
- The entry fee is $30 per photo, and you’re welcome to enter as many times as you like!
- Categories include dogs and cats.
- Only cats and dogs are eligible for submission. As the Kaua‘i Humane Society is dedicated specifically to the care, sheltering, and support of cats and dogs, our calendar contest is focused on the animals we serve through our programs and services.

- Photos of non-wildlife companion animals are accepted. This only includes dogs and cats.
- Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from the Kaua’i Humane Society or live on the island of Kaua’i to be eligible to enter the contest.
- Photos may contain more than one pet, but each photo will only count as one entry.
- Photos must be high-resolution (300 dpi or greater) and be in landscape (horizontal) format to be considered for a month spread in the calendar.
- Photos must only contain domestic pets, dogs or cats (no people or wildlife).
- Photos must be full-color and not heavily filtered, edited or altered.
- Photos with professional photographer watermarks will not be eligible to be included in the calendar.
- Photos deemed offensive, indecent or obscene will be removed from the contest.
- Photos must receive at least 5 votes to be included in the 2027 KHS calendar.
- All online photo entries must be submitted by 8:00 PM (Hawaiian Time) on Sunday, August 30, 2026.
- Only digital photo submissions will be accepted. Mail-in and in-person photo drop offs to the shelter will be ineligible.
- All photos submitted become the property of the Kaua’i Humane Society for marketing and promotional purposes.
Legal & Usage Terms
By entering, you confirm that:
- The photo is original and you own the rights to it.
- You grant the Kaua‘i Humane Society full rights to use your photo for marketing, promotional, and print materials.
- Inappropriate or unqualified submissions may be removed without refund.
- All donations are non-refundable. Save your confirmation email for tax purposes.
