2026 Face of the Alliance

Who is the Alliance?

The Missouri Alliance for Animal Legislation is the only organization devoted exclusively to fighting for stronger animal welfare laws at the Missouri Capitol. Since 1990, we have been the voice for animals by working with legislators, government officials, and advocates to protect animals from cruelty, neglect, and exploitation.

Our work has led to landmark victories, including improving conditions for dogs in commercial breeding facilities, strengthening penalties for animal abuse, and advancing protections for companion animals, farmed animals, and wildlife. Learn more about the Alliance at our website: MAAL.org

What is Face of the Alliance?
Each year, the Alliance hosts our Face of the Alliance contest to celebrate the animals we love while raising critical support for those still in need. It is now time to select the Face of the Alliance for 2026! This year, the Alliance is taking our annual contest to the next level with our 2026 Calendar Contest. 

The pet who receives the most votes wins and will be elected as the Face of the Alliance and will be featured on our newsletters and website. Although only one pet can be elected to be the Face of the Alliance, the top 12 pets will each be featured in our 2026 Alliance calendar, complete with their photos and inspiring stories. 

Every vote not only helps your pet rise to the top but also helps the Alliance continue our fight for stronger protections and a brighter future for animals across Missouri. Enter today and rally support for your pet!

Prizes:
  • The First-Place Winner will also be featured in the Alliance’s monthly e-newsletters and on the Alliance website throughout 2026 as the “Face of the Alliance”.
  • The Top 12 vote-getters will each be featured in one month of the 2026 Face of the Alliance Calendar. Winners will select their month in descending order of votes received.
  • The First-Place Winner and three runners up will receive an Alliance t-shirt.

Rules
  1. By entering this contest, each Entrant agrees to be bound by these official contest rules. The decisions of the Missouri Alliance for Animal Legislation (Alliance) and its administrator shall be final and binding.
  2. Entrants must be 18 years or older.
  3. This contest is open to the Alliance’s supporters, friends, and donors.  The Alliance reserves the right to eliminate or disqualify any entry at any time at the Alliance’s discretion.  If your entry is disqualified, entry fees paid will be promptly refunded.  The Alliance and/or its administrator are not obligated to acknowledge why an entry has been disqualified.
  4. Entrants must be the sole owner and copyright holder of the photo(s) you submit to the contest.
  5. By submitting your photo to the contest, you give the Alliance an irrevocable perpetual royalty-free right to use your photo(s) to promote its mission.
  6. PHOTO ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:  Do not include any branded products, trademarks or logos in the photo, title or description.  Each photo must contain only pets.  Each photo must be original work of the Entrant, may not have won previous awards from the Alliance, must not infringe third-party rights, and must be suitable for public viewing, (i.e., may not be obscene or indecent).  Because the Alliance promotes the compassionate care of all pets, photos and photo captions showing or describing unsafe situations or not exemplifying responsible pet ownership, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, will not be considered.  The pet in the photo must be owned by the Entrant.  Entrant represents that he/she owns all rights to each element of his/her photo.  The Alliance’s determination as to whether the photo potentially violates the rights of any third party is final.
  7. The deadline for photo submissions at midnight (11:59:59 PM Central Time) on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
  8. The general public can vote for their favorite pet online from 9:00 AM (Central Time) on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 through midnight (11:59:59 PM Central Time) on Saturday, November 1, 2025.  Each vote cast costs $1.00.
  9. No refunds will be issued for any reason.
  10. The winners will be announced online on November 3, 2025, and notified at the email address provided by each winning Entrant.
  11. In the event of a tie, winners will be determined by a committee of judges selected by the Alliance.
