Welcome to Saving with Soul's Web Site Renovation PHOTO Contest!
In early 2025, Saving with Soul Pet Rescue will be replacing most of the photos on our website (
SavewithSoul.com) with photos from YOU! More specifically, photos that are entered in this contest and receive the most votes (the first twenty top vote-getters are guaranteed a spot, maybe even more).
The last time we undertook this project we got hundreds of pictures to consider, and thousands of votes, so it was a LOT of fun for everyone. We're expecting an even bigger turnout this go-around.
Here's the deal. You can submit as many pictures as you want of a dog or cat adopted from Saving with Soul. You must include the pet's name at adoption as well as the current name (if different) in the description. Please review the rules below for further instructions.
It's $5 to enter and $1 to vote. Feel free to pimp your pet's entry photo to all your friends and neighbors – you'll be pleasantly surprised how much support you'll get!
Where will the money go? Let us tell you!All proceeds will go toward the Saving with Soul Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic's programs to help low-income families spay and neuter their pets. Cat entries will benefit cats; dog entries will benefit dogs.
OH, and what do YOU get if you WIN? Well, besides bragging rights to having your pet on our website, the top vote-getter will win a personal photo session with our professional photographer Mastro Photography. You may use the session any way you like, but obviously it would be great if you include your furry family members.

The lucky dog or cat who gets the most votes will win a professional portrait session for themself (but are highly encouraged to bring their humans along too)! The session will be scheduled at sunset (for that golden glow up!). Session must be scheduled Monday-Friday. The session will be held outdoors at a location of your choosing within a 45-mile radius of Baker, Florida.
Message from the photographer: "My sessions are unpoised and unscripted. We will take a few key family shots and then let the games begin! Trust me when I tell you that the candid, raw, moments are where the beauty is; that’s where your story is. My style of photography is to capture your family doing what it enjoys— picking wildflowers, dancing, singing, twirling, playing tag, playing fetch — whatever it is that makes your family unique and expresses your love for one another — that’s what I want to capture for you."
The winning family will receive a digital gallery with full rights to print the photos. As an added bonus, you will also receive a professionally printed canvas of your fave photo from the session.

- Photos must be of dogs or cats adopted or fostered through Saving with Soul
- The focus of the photo must be of the pet; any humans in the photo must be background/not easily identifiable
- You must include both the name of the pet at adoption and the current name (if different) in your description
- No professional photos
- All photos must be submitted online through the contest site
- Photos must be submitted by the pet's owner
- Any photo deemed inappropriate, obscene, or offensive will be removed and ineligible
- Donations are tax deductible (save your donation receipt!) and non-refundable
- Entry fee is a $5 donation per photo
- Each vote is a $1 donation per vote
Saving with Soul Pet Rescue is among the largest dog and cat rescues in the Florida Panhandle, bringing nearly 2,000 homeless animals through the rescue every year. We pride ourselves on being a "mutt" rescue in that we aren't particular as to breed, size or even traditional beauty - we like to say that as long as it's a "nice dog or cat" we can probably find them a home. In fact, we absolutely adore the Special Souls - that is - dogs and cats with special needs, which would normally make them less adoptable in a traditional shelter environment.
Saving with Soul also offers the only low-cost spay/neuter facility across five Florida counties! We are able to sterilize 200 pets per week at a cost hundreds of dollars less than in regular veterinary practices.
If you haven't yet, please visit our new PUPStop facility north of Baker, Florida where we house 20-30 dogs, including many small and medium breeds. We're open 7 days a week so drop on by. We have a great staff and a wonderful ambience, so we promise you'll enjoy it.
