Welcome to the Texas Great Pyrenees Rescue 2019 Calendar Photo Contest! The contest is an exciting way to celebrate your pet while helping our rescue save this amazing breed.

It might not seem like a $1 vote will go very far for the animals, but a dollar can do a lot for a homeless pet! Encourage your friends and family to vote for your photos and you could win a prize. Plus, the more votes you get the more the animals win!

Votes are $1 each. $20 will count for 20 votes and $50 will count for 50 votes, etc. More votes not only helps more abandoned, injured, and neglected animals in our community, it increases your chance to win a spot in the 2019 TGPR as well!

The winning Pyr will earn its place on the calendar cover. The next 10 runners up will be on the subsequent pages. Two entries will be selected by the Calendar committee as an Editor's choice, based on their presentation.


The photo contest entry fee is $25.00 per photo submission. If you pre-order a 2019 calendar in the entry process you will receive 5 free votes on your entry. Cost of a calendar is $17.00. You must pre-order your calendar(s) in the entry process to receive 5 free votes. If you enter the contest and later pre-order your calendars from the stand alone 2019 calendar pre-order page, you will not receive 5 free votes.

Photos may include more than one Great Pyrenees, Pyr mix, or LGD working dog (or dogs) shown with the animals they protect. Resolution of the image may limit its ability to be used in calendar. When selecting your photo, consider it will be on a calendar page, so a vertical photo or a photo in a 4 x6 photo format may not be suitable. Please read over the recommendations for photo submission before doing so. Submissions will be accepted on-line only from July 1 to July 31st. (Click for Rules of Contest)


Submissions will be accepted on-line only from July 1 to July 30. Photos can be voted on by the public during the submission period and until July 30 for $1 per vote (minimum $5).

Voters are prompted to make a donation (minimum 5 votes) at the time of voting. Entries will receive one vote for every $1 donated during the voting process. After you submit your entry, you have the opportunity to ask your friends and family members to donate-to-vote by sending them the URL for your entry or using the "Tell-A-Friend" form when you log in to your account on the Contest website. Keep in mind that you cannot combine votes from separate photos/entries.

Winners will also receive two 2019 Calendars for you and your BFF.

This year, there will be two entries specifically chosen for their artistic presentation. They will be selected by the Calendar committee and placed appropriately by the committee.

Want a guaranteed spot in the calendar? Reserve a day to honor your pet.   In this part of the calendar you may submit ANY pet for your entry.  That means cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, hamsters, goldfish, Iguana, WHATEVER your pet is, they can be a star on the calendar day that you buy for them!  Your pet's photo will appear on the calendar day of your choice. Just choose your favorite photo, the day and pay! First come first served! Once a date has been reserved, it will no longer be available. Each day is $10.00.

Donations made through the Texas Great Pyrenees Rescue Calendar Contest and Online Voting donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Contact us for more information if a receipt is requested. Proceeds from the voting and calendar entries go to Texas Great Pyrenees Rescue for the care and maintenance of rescued Great Pyrenees.
