The Art of Surviving, sponsored by the Raymond A. Wood Foundation, is a juried online art competition held in May every year during Brain Tumor Awareness Month and celebrates the art of the brain tumor community — survivors, caregivers and family members.

Many brain tumor survivors use art as a way to cope with the challenges that come with treatment, a means to calm and focus an injured brain or an opportunity to express their experiences.

This exhibition is judged by a jury of professional artists and creative writers. Cash prizes are awarded for best in category by age group.

• $500 Grand Prize Award (Brain tumor patients & survivors only)

• $1,800 in Awards for Best in Category by age group (Brain tumor patients & survivors only)

• $700 in People’s Choice Awards for each age group including caregivers and family members.

The artist with the most number of votes in each age group receives a People's Choice Award and $100 in cash!
