Welcome to the first ever RC PAWS – A Festival for the Animals photo fundraiser! RC PAWS stands for
Radio Control Piloting for Animal Welfare Shindig, an annual live fundraiser hosted by the Fluvanna County Radio Control Flying Club (FCRCFC) to benefit the
Caring for Creatures,
Fluvanna SPCA, and
Peaceful Passings animal shelters in Fluvanna County, Virginia. The 2015
RC PAWS event will take place
July 18th, and will feature adoption events, local pet service vendors, food, activities for kids, aerobatic demonstrations, and a huge raffle with proceeds to the shelters.
This year, the club is sponsoring this Photo Fundraiser as an additional fundraising element connected to
RC PAWS. We are asking for your help in identifying the
RC PAWS – A Festival for the Animals Planning Committee for the 2016 event. The committee will be run by the
Top Dog and Top Cat.
Top Cat and Top Dog will each receive an amazing prize –
two tickets to the
Flying Circus Air Show in Bealeton, Virginia, AND a certificate good for a 15 minute aerobatic biplane ride. In addition,
everyone who votes in the contest will become eligible in a drawing to win a pair of tickets to the show AND the 15 minute aerobatic biplane ride. More votes equal more benefit to the shelters AND a better shot at winning in the drawing. The winner will be posted in the "Front Page News" block on the home page of the club's website
www.fcrcfc.org on or about August 15
th.
Under the leadership of Top Cat and Top Dog will be
three subcommittees, led by the next three top vote getters
. Rounding out the committee will be the
10 entrants receiving the highest vote totals excluding winners in the top two categories. The basic rules are simple – submit a photo of your beloved cat or dog, and send it in along with your compelling story in 150 words or less. Eligible entrants are current residents of any of the shelters, or your favorite cat or dog
whether or not it was adopted from any of the three participating shelters. Check out the

The real winners in this contest will be the hundreds of animals so lovingly cared for by these three awesome organizations while they await adoption into their "furever homes." All the money raised in all the voting will be shared among the three shelters. So please, nominate your own beloved pet or one of the residents, work all your networks for all they're worth, vote early and often, and let's raise a mountain of money during the
