A little about me...
Ratthew (the brown rat, originally Fred), was a foster fail on my part. I was only supposed to foster him for two weeks for LCHS but absolutely fell in love with his shy, intelligent and playful personality and naturally had to adopt him. When looking more into rat personalities and lifestyles I discovered that they are extremely social and need at least one more cage-mate, so I started searching around town until I found Ratthina (white rat) all by herself for weeks at a Petco. While I was iffy about supporting a chain, I knew I had to adopt her to be Ratthew’s sister. Upon introducing them to each other they immediately bonded and can always been seen sleeping, eating, and playing together! They both have such quirky little personalities: Ratthew is more shy and skittish at times while Ratthina is bolder and not afraid to be in your business, and they both go crazy over little dried yogurt treats and the occasional sweet treat. They live a lifestyle of luxury in their double critter nation filled to the brim with hammocks, boxes, toys, and a huge wheel. I am currently in the process of teaching them little tricks, such as learning their names and to come when they’re called. Both Ratthew and Ratthina have brightened even my darkest days and I can’t imagine life without them right now. I am so thankful that I decided to face my fears and foster Ratthew because he has opened my eyes to the wonderful world of rats!
