A little about me...13 years ago, Mellie was surrendered to the MHS as a 3 month old puppy who had been hit by a car. She was severely injured and needed intensive surgery and rehab. Her foster Mom lived nearby and was walking her past our house several times a day. This is how Mellie found us and chose us as her family.
Mellie and I would take walks every day possible. She would always bring her ball but also loved finding lost balls along the way. She was smart and funny, a beautiful tuxedo dog. She showed us her love and gratitude at all times.
Although she won several battles with health issues during her life, she couldn't win her last. We had to say goodbye to her on May 1st.
We are so grateful to MHS for taking that puppy that came to them 13 years ago and saved her life. She was able to come to us. She changed our lives.
