If you are a cat or dog lover in Red Willow County Nebraska or southwest, Nebraska (Tri-State area) we'd like you to help us identify the most adorable and funny furry friends around town. The cats and dogs receiving the most votes will be featured in a new 2018 calendar and the top two voting photos will receive the honor of "Calendar Cover Models of the Year," and will be featured in the official 2018 Cats and Dogs of McCook Calendar.


Votes can be entered beginning Monday, April, 3^rd, 7:00pm CST, and through the online contest deadline ending Sunday, July, 9^th, 2017, 7:00pm CST. Vote for your favorite photo as often as you wish and encourage your family, friends, and place of work to vote for your favorite pet photos too. There is no limit to the number of votes one may cast. All contest voting donations are tax deductible and benefit the McCook Humane Society. Please encourage your Face book friends and social media followers to share and vote for your favorite cat and dog.


Top winners (the one cat and one dog photo earning the most votes) will be featured on the cover of the 2018 calendar. In addition, the winning owner (one cat and one dog owner) will each receive the following prizes:

• Two official 2018 gift calendars and one official shelter deck of playing cards
• One $25.00 gift certificate to Sehnert's Bakery, "on the bricks," McCook, NE
• One $25.00 gift card to Farrell's Hallmark on B Street, McCook, NE

We will begin accepting photo submissions for the 2018 Cats and Dogs of McCook Calendar beginning Monday, April, 3^rd, 7:00pm CST, 2017. Votes can be placed seven days a week, 24 hours a day, and there is no limit to the number of times you can return to the contest and vote. The contest will end on Sunday, July, 9^th, 2017, 7:00pm CST.

Last year, our animal loving community mailed in over 75 cat and dog photographs for consideration for the 2017 calendar. We are now asking the community to send in their "new" and favorite photos for inclusion in next year's 2018 calendar.


100% of the 2018 contest donations (post contest expenses) go to benefit the McCook Humane Society which helps our community show we care for all the wonderful cats and dogs in our shelter still waiting for their forever homes!


The Cat Pack - Friends of the McCook Humane Society will be selling calendars, refrigerator magnets, posters, and other pet merchandise at various community events throughout the year. Calendars will also be available at The McCook Humane Society (100 South Street, McCook, NE) during normal shelter hours.


Since 1983, the McCook Humane Society has provided a temporary home for puppies and kittens, as well as adult dogs and cats. The shelter staff, Board of Directors, and community volunteers are all dedicated to finding permanent, loving homes for abused, neglected, and abandoned animals in Southwest Nebraska and Northwest Kansas.


We are volunteers who support the McCook Humane Society. Cat Pack activities include raising awareness about the joy of adopting shelter animals and fundraising projects to support the shelter.
