The Maui Humane Society 2026 Calendar Contest fundraiser celebrates Maui’s real-life heroes by pairing them with our beloved pets in a striking black-and-white studio shoot. In partnership with Hawaii Fire Fighters Association, Hawaii Government Employees Association, State of Hawaii Organization of Police Officers, and MHS' Humane Enforcement Officers, the goal of this calendar is to highlight the brave heroes of our community and the resilience of pets.
The 12 photos with the most votes will be featured as the main images for the 12 months of the 2026 calendar! Voting ends on 9/7/2025 at 11:59 p.m. HST. All runners-up will be included on the back of the calendar. Each vote is only $1 (required minimum of 5 votes) and 100% of the proceeds benefit the pets of Maui Humane Society. Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Coralie Willett Living Trust, all gifts in August will be matched up to $100,000! That means the impact of your votes will go twice as far to provide our animals with shelter, veterinary care, food, and love.
The photo shoots were held in the photography studio at University of Hawaii Maui College. Photos were taken by the award-winning Oahu-based photographer, Dana Edmunds, who donated his talent and services for this fundraiser. Photoshoot production and creative direction and design of the calendar were provided by the brilliant Maui-based Sae Design Group.

Maui Humane Society is Maui’s only open-admission animal shelter, taking in and caring for nearly 5,000 animals in need each year. Guided by our mission “to protect and save the lives of Maui’s animals, accepting all in need, educating the community, and inspiring respect and compassion toward all animals,” we provide shelter, adoption, foster, transfer, and community support programs that maximize positive outcomes for every animal. As a nonprofit, we rely on our community to save lives and strengthen the bond between people and animals on Maui. Your support and generous donations ensure animals in need receive the lifesaving care they deserve.
For our 2026 calendar, Maui Humane Society partnered with Maui’s police officers, firefighters, water safety officers, and our own Humane Enforcement Officers to highlight the shared mission we all carry as rescuers on Maui. United under this theme of rescue, we honor the many ways our community’s heroes, human and animal alike, step forward every day to keep Maui safe with compassion and resilience. This calendar not only celebrates those acts of courage, it also shines a light on the animals who depend on us most—raising both awareness and vital funds to support Maui Humane Society’s lifesaving work.
