Meet Roxy! Roxy came to us from the BC SPCA West Vancouver branch during November 2016 and found her forever home in our hearts in the very second when we saw her ❤️. Roxy had come to the shelter from up North, through the BC SPCA's drive for lives program. She was used to living outside during the day and - being true to her Labrador/Coonhound roots - frequently got into trouble for hunting livestock on neighboring farms. This, together with a love for chasing cats, contributed to her being surrendered.
From the very day we walked into the shelter, which was also the day when Roxy arrived at the West Vancouver branch, those chocolate colored eyes won us over. She has given us so much love and joy from day one, and even on her naughty days, we know that we have earned her respect and love too ☺️.
Roxy is a lady of leisure at heart. She loves to lounge around in front of the fireplace and treasures the rare moments of sunshine the Vancouver weather is allowing us outside on the patio. She also enjoys her walks around West Vancouver, and the parks and mountains on the North Shore, but not when it is raining ☺️. Roxy has also taken a shine to the naughty pleasure of chasing squirrels, which we are working on. When she does not see a squirrel she can be quite fearful, but she has come such a long way and is gaining more confidence in herself and in us with every day that passes.
Roxy hopes to be able to raise money for the wonderful BC SPCA team, to say thank you for looking after her so well, and to help other animals in need find their forever home!Species
