San PedroPet's Story or Bio
I adopted Porter when he was 3-1/2 years old and knew by his wobbly walk that he'd eventually be a "cart dog". He lost the use of his hind legs when he was 8 years old after rupturing the same disc in his back three times. I immediately bought him a dog cart and, after six months of exercising, he could finally walk again on his own. It only took about a week for Porter to realize the benefit of the cart and he "owns" it. His legs were still weak so he uses the cart to go on walks and when we go to the dog park. Porter can actually run faster now than he could before his legs became paralyzed, and he's very proud of himself, especially when he runs.
He's an extremely happy and loving dog, who has many, many human friends, and numerous people have taken his picture. We have also been able to educate many people about dog carts who didn't know carts existed. Porter has been using the dog cart for four years now.
