Your Pet's Rescue Story
In 2015 I was going through a rough time in my life. Depression and anxiety had taken a toll on me both mentally and physically and I was in no place to take care of a dog.

When a friend of mine showed up at the house one day with a little scruffy pup I was taken by his upbeat personality and constant smile. She was fostering him at the time and said the rescue agency had named him Poncho. He was found on the street weighing just 7 pounds(1/3rd of what he should be) and just about every bone in his body was visible. But he had persevered long enough to be found and nursed to better health.

When things got hectic for her and she had to give up fostering him, I agreed to give fostering a shot. For one week Poncho lived with me, in which time his crazy, happy personality had become infectious, and I felt more alive than I’d felt in months.

On a Saturday morning I took Poncho to the pet store where the adoption agency was hosting an adoption event. After dropping him off there, I spent the next 8 hours running errands, yet one thing kept popping into my mind. “I hope he’s still there when I get back!” I knew in that moment I couldn’t let him get adopted by someone else because he was meant to be my companion! To my elation Poncho was still at the store when I went back at closing time and I took no time at all to tell the agency I wanted to give him his Forever Home!

Poncho must have known something was different when we got in the car, because he climbed over and laid in my lap immediately. After about the second week of living with me, my friends and I just couldn’t believe how happy and care free this little guy was. So after careful consideration I decided to name him something a little more fitting then Poncho.

For the last 4 years Happy has been my constant reminder to take life as it comes but always keep my head up. His unconditional love and loyalty remind me every day that life is an incredible journey and we all have so much to be grateful for.
