Your Pet's Rescue Story
I adopted Kuda from a shelter in Oklahoma. He was very startled and confused to leave the shelter, and he plopped all 60 lbs. of himself in my lap as I sat in the driver's seat, pressing again the car horn with his body. The first 6 months were full of growing pains, as he was still a young dog and trying to size me up. Many shoes and bags of trash were destroyed. With time, Kuda began to trust me, and since then he has been my best friend and travel companion. He approved of my husband, so we allowed him to join our family. When my husband was stationed in Nellis AFB in Nevada, Kuda came with us. When we made a road trip from Nevada to West Virginia, then finally down to Florida, Kuda was a trooper the whole time. He's still an Oklahoma prairie dog, as he's terrified of the ocean, but his sweet, gentle personality is what has made him the best dog and friend. Now that he's older, his favorite activity is lying around the house, as seen in the photo. He isn't a big fan of hats, but as long as he can nap he'll make do.
