MatthewYour Pet's Rescue Story
When I lived in Pennsylvania, I visited a local shelter to drop off cat food one day and saw Riley. He was a kitten at the time, at a shelter that receives almost 100 cats daily. He was extremely sad, laying in his litter. When I reached down to his small cage, he got excited, loving, and happy. It was meant to be. He was waiting for me. After falling in love with this sweet boy and getting him home, I discovered he was very sick. This lasted several weeks as I took him to several different vets who ran many tests and could not help him get better. I called the shelter that I adopted him from to see if they could help me as I was out of answers and out of money. They had no suggestion except to bring him back and pick out a new cat. I could not believe the suggestion and didn't consider that option for a moment. After doing some research online, I found a great vet and together, we helped him recover and go back to being his happy, energetic self. After his recovery, he spent the days at a friend's in-home daycare, playing and cuddling with kids while I worked. 11 years have now passed, and he still acts like a kitten, with the personality of a puppy. He loves to play fetch and greets my wife and I at the door the second we come home, ready to shower us with love. Anytime we leave, he sits at the door and cries. He's the happiest with people and is the most cuddly and loving boy. Anyone we meet who does not like cats, falls in love with Riley instantly and remark that if all cats were like him, they would adopt a cat. I'm so thankful that I went to the shelter that day and brought Riley home. He fills our home with so much love and joy.
