Why is Your Pet "Rescued (or Stray) and Unforgettable"?
After our fourteen-year old beagle mix passed away last summer, we started looking for another puppy. We got in touch with several rescues and searched Petfinder every day. We saw Scout listed with EASEL, the nonprofit rescue that runs Ewing Animal Shelter in New Jersey, and fell in love!

Scout was found as a stray in South Carolina with her sister. EASEL had named them "Thelma" and "Louise". We still get them together for play dates. They were thought to be about six months old when they were rescued.

After doing a DNA test, we received the surprising results that Scout is half Beagle and half Australian Cattle Dog. This is how she gets the dapple brown spots and long legs!

Scout is very energetic and a super-fast runner. However, she is also a social cuddle bug! She greets all the dogs and people who walk past our fence. She plays with lots of toys and enjoys frequent belly rubs.

Her favorite place to play is the fenced yard, at all hours–chasing cats, bunnies and squirrels and playing fetch. Her favorite place to sleep is on a large beanbag chair called a Yogibo, which she stole from her human brothers.

Scout's disposition is pure joy and happiness, with her white-tipped tail wagging high. She has been a perfect addition to our family.
