SpeciesAmerican Robin
Insight about the shot or speciesThis little one appeared in my front yard just as the winter storm was arriving in Houston. He/she has only one functioning leg, but flies really well. I knew it would be difficult for this puffed up beauty to find food over the next few days with the approaching cold and snow, so each day I put out fresh berries and mealworms. I think the Robin appreciated the help because it still visits daily and sings beautifully in the tree in our front yard as it waits for meal time!
