City and State
A little about me...
Niles has had a rough road to travel it seems. He came into rescue thanks to a wonderful gentleman who found him wandering a State Park, lost, confused and in bad health. Niles did not make it easy either as he was terrified and exhibited that through aggression. Niles had nails grown into his paw pads, infected oral disease, too thin, heart disease and generally just neglected.
Thanks to Buckeye Basset Hound Rescue, he was fully vetted and on the road to recovery. Entering his foster home, he immediately seemed to like the other furry members of the family and a tad intrigued by the pet parrot. However, he was not yet up to trusting the humans (he thinks the cats are a bit shady too) With a LOT of patience, reassurance, time, food, medicine and love… He has made huge strides in just nine months! Everyday, Niles shows a little bit more of his true personality and is just now looking towards his humans for comfort and attention. He has some bad days and good days, but hey, who doesn’t?!
Niles is VERY thankful to the rescue for not giving up on him and allowing him to know what a loving, caring home life feels like for his senior days
